Ferocious winter swells from Alaska rage across the Pacific and race headlong towards Oahu’s North Shore. About 50 yards off the beach (which, by the way, is really close) they collide with massive reefs that act like vert ramps, breaking left and launching these extreme waves into big air, two stories high and higher. Backside is incredible. Frontside is unbelievable. And inside this famous round green room it’s slick and fast and wild and mean and spiritual. The ocean’s roar gives you the sensation of being pushed through a car engine cylinder, ignited by internal combustion.
